About the Organization:
Founded in 1999, EmcArts is a New York City-based nonprofit arts consulting group that works to foster innovation among local arts communities and their funders across the country. The organization, which had a $2.1 million budget last year, works with nonprofit arts and cultural organizations to design programs that strengthen their capacity and effectiveness and respond to local community needs.

Current Programs:
EmcArts offerings include the New Pathways for the Arts initiative, a ten-month training and immersion program designed to accelerate the development of innovative strategies and adaptive leadership among community-based arts organizations; Innovation Lab, which helps arts organizations challenge their core operating assumptions and engage in a practical innovation project; workshops and presentations, including an Innovating in Turbulent Times workshop; and evaluation and research services, including formative and summative evaluations, program impact assessments, financial planning and analyses, and systems dynamics analyses.

Funding:
EmcArts receives the majority of its funding from its nonprofit clients.
