1Sky

Mission:
To focus the power of millions of concerned Americans on the goal of passing federal legislation by 2010 that helps to slow and eventually reverse global warming.

Background:
The 1Sky campaign was established in 2007 to convene organizations in support of a unified platform for transformative change in global warming policy. In collaboration with local, state, and national environmental groups, 1Sky calls for federal solutions that are scientifically warranted rather than politically expedient, directing 40 percent of its resources to existing organizations to avoid duplication of work.

Outstanding Web Features:
The 1Sky Web site offers a video of 1Sky board president Betsy Taylor; a list of global warming challenges and potential solutions; campaign resources; and information on how visitors to the site can make a difference. The site also offers a blog and a page, Faces of Climate Change, featuring a Google mashup map that allows visitors to share their concern about the rapidly warming climate and upload photos or link to a video.
