Background:
The Climate Adaptation Knowledge Exchange is a community Web site created for people who are working to address the effects of climate change on natural resources. CAKE was developed by Island Press, a publisher of solutions-based environmental information, and EcoAdapt, a leader in developing the concepts and practices of climate adaptation.

Outstanding Web Features:
CAKE consists of four content areas, including a virtual library featuring adaptation-related resources and e-books; case studies relevant to climate adaptation efforts; a directory of people and organizations working to address climate change; and tools for adaptation planning. The site also features an interactive map that displays site content and the CAKE community geographically; the latter includes a column featuring advice from adaptation specialists, a calendar of upcoming events, and job opportunities in the field.
