Debatepedia

Debatepedia

Mission:
To help citizens and decision-makers better deliberate on the world's most important questions.

Background:
Developed by the International Debate Education Association, (IDEA), Debatepedia is an online, searchable utility for students wishing to research topics for formal debate purposes. The site contains hundreds of topics, each with basic arguments for and against a controversial proposition, and is driven by the same open-platform technology that powers Wikipedia, enabling anyone to contribute/suggest additional materials.

Outstanding Web Features:
Registered site users can publish new articles and add or edit pro/con arguments. Each topic page includes background about the issue as well as pro and con arguments and related YouTube videos and links. The site also offers a user's guide; a video gallery; a Debate Digest archive, a bi-weekly update about the latest additions to the site; and a blog.
