Family Economic Success

Family Economic Success

Mission:
To help low-income, working families build financial futures in strong neighborhoods through workforce development, family economic support, and community investment.

Background:
The Annie E. Casey Foundation developed the Family Economic Success (FES) approach to help low-income families access skills and education for jobs and careers, resources to meet basic needs, and funding for housing and commercial development. Earlier this year, the foundation launched a Web site with in-depth information on FES for practitioners in the field, researchers, policymakers, and the general public.

Outstanding Feature:
The publications library on the FES site links to reports from a variety of nonprofits, foundations, and other institutions that focus on the overall FES approach as well as its three components — Workforce Development, Family Economic Supports, and Community Investment. The site also links to publications that cover FES for Immigrants and Refugees and FES for Rural America. For each title, the site provides a brief summary of the report and a link to the PDF file.
