Health Games Research

Mission:
To advance the innovation and effectiveness of digital games and game technologies intended to improve health.

Background:
Sponsored by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Pioneer Portfolio initiative, Health Games Research is a national program that works with creative game designers and artists to integrate well-tested principles of learning and behavior change into games that motivate players to improve their habits and take better care of their health.

Outstanding Web Features:
The Health Games Research Web site features information related to the research and design of health games, including a keyword-searchable database of more than fourteen hundred games, conferences, organizations, publications, and resources. In addition, site visitors can read HGR publications such as the program's research briefs or articles about featured colleagues, and learn about the projects supported by the organization.
