InvisiblePeople.tv

Mission:
To capture the face and voice of homelessness.

Background:
Launched by Mark Horvath in 2008, InvisiblePeople.tv uses social media to give homeless people a voice. Through video interviews posted on the site as well as on YouTube and Vimeo, people share their experiences of homelessness.

Outstanding Web Features:
Visitors to the site are encouraged to leave comments, subscribe to the video blog via RSS feed, and share the site's content on other social networking sites, including Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. The site features an interactive word cloud of first names listed under the headline "Homeless Has a Name," information about Horvath's recent cross-country road trip, and a video that tells his personal story. In addition to documenting the stories of the homeless on InvisiblePeople.tv, Horvath posts compelling photos of homeless people he has met on Flickr and shares his experience advocating for the homeless on his blog, Hardly Normal.
