JustGive
Mission:
To increase charitable giving by connecting people with the charities and causes they care most about.
Background:
Launched in 2000, JustGive is dedicated to creating tools and services that make charitable giving a part of everyday life. To date, the platform has directed more than $130 million to tens of thousands of charities. In 2009, JustGive and the I Do Foundation joined forces to help soon-to-be-married couples raise funds for charity as part of their wedding festivities.
Outstanding Web Features:
Visitors to the JustGive site can search for a charity by name, keyword, EIN, zip code, or issue area and make a one-time donation, a monthly giving commitment, a memorial donation, or address an immediate need. Those looking to give a gift donation can browse the holiday gift guide, which suggests specific donations (for example, "provide one person with lifetime access to safe drinking water: $30"); choose a charity collection that features four nonprofits working for a specific cause; or purchase a GiveNow gift card and let friends and family choose a charity to give to. The JustGive platform also allows donors to choose what information will be shared with a recipient organization, so it's possible to give anonymously. JustGive.org also hosts charity registries for special occasions, team registries for fundraising events, and wedding and memorial registries.
