Native Americans in Philanthropy
Mission:
To engage Native and non-Native peoples in understanding and advancing the role of philanthropy through practices that support Native traditional values for current and future generations.
Background:
Founded in 1990, Native Americans in Philanthropy is the only national organization with the sole purpose of increasing the effectiveness of philanthropy related to Native peoples. The organization leverages and expands the sources of philanthropic dollars for Native issues and concerns, and helps build the management capacity for the institutions and programs. In pursuit of this mission, it serves as a forum for partnerships between Native people, donors, foundations, and other interested philanthropists.
Outstanding Web Features:
The Native Americans in Philanthropy Web site features links to its e-newsletter. The site also contains news, a media resource center that includes information by category complete with video presentations, and links to organizations and funders that help tribes and Native groups.
