Performance Indicators/Griffin Hospital
Mission:
To empower individuals to be actively involved in decisions affecting their care and well-being through access to information and education.
Background:
Griffin Hospital, a 160-bed, nonprofit facility, is among a small number of hospitals that report quality information and patient satisfaction ratings on their Web sites. Sharing this information is consistent with Griffin's Planetree care philosophy of empowering patients to become active participants in their own health through access to facts. Accessible through the performance indicators section of the Web site, the information is derived from recent surveys, analyses, and reports. In some instances, the performance of Griffin is compared to that of other Connecticut hospitals; in others, performance is tracked over a period of years. The information is updated as new reports are issued.
Outstanding Feature:
Key performance indicators are accreditations; community satisfaction surveys; patient satisfaction ratings; operating and clinical indicators; Medicare process indicators; standing on heart attack care, heart failure care, and pneumonia care; and inclusion in the Fortune magazine survey of the one hundred best companies to work for in America. Colorful, easy-to-read graphs and charts enhance many of the sections.
