Background:
The Pew Charitable Trusts, an independent grantmaking public charity, is the sole beneficiary of seven individual charitable funds established between 1948 and 1979 by children of Sun Oil Company founder Joseph N. Pew and his wife, Mary Anderson Pew. Pew operates and supports several centers and initiatives, including the Pew Research Center; the Pew Center on Global Climate Change; the Pew Hispanic Center; the Pew Institute for Ocean Science; the Pew Fellowship in the Arts; and the Pew Center for Civic Journalism.

Outstanding Web Features:
Pew's recently redesigned Web site offers a resource library and a searchable database of its grants and program-related investments. In addition to current and past issues of Trust, its almost-quarterly magazine, and Q&As with Pew officials, the site provides information on the Pew program investments and donor relations.
