Sea Studios Foundation
Mission:
To communicate wonder and respect for Earth's interconnected systems through the use of innovative media; to spotlight critical environmental issues; to motivate citizen engagement with these issues; and to inspire business and government decision makers to accelerate their support for solutions.
Background:
The Sea Studios Foundation draws on the broad appeal of mass media and community events to bridge the gap between scientists and the public. During the 2007 Clinton Global Initiative, the organization made a commitment, called Strange Days 2020, to reach twenty million television viewers annually and engage a total of fifty million Internet users to take actions that matter globally.
Outstanding Web Features:
In addition to stunning photography, the Sea Studios Web site features a project directory, which includes the PBS series Strange Days on Planet Earth and the live animation film Once Upon a Tide; a blog; and an interactive staff directory. The site also highlights causes associated with the Strange Days series, enabling visitors to view films related to the initiative and/or support them.
