State Profiles for Women's Health
Mission: To offer users the latest national and state data and policies on women's health, from health insurance coverage to abortion policy changes.
Background: Launched in 2015 as part of the Kaiser Family Foundation's coverage of women's health, State Profiles for Women's Health serves as a compendium of information on women's access to care, health coverage, and health status, and data on incidences and deaths for various conditions and diseases. The interactive dashboard provided users with the latest national and state-specific data on women's health, including insurance and Medicaid coverage, poverty, mental health, HIV, cancer, pregnancy, abortions, and use of preventive services. In addition, many indicators also provide healthcare information for women broken down by race/ethnicity. Recent updates allow users to explore a broad range of state-level statistics and policies of importance to women, including contraceptive coverage, sexual health, maternal and infant health, and abortion policies. The profiles draw from multiple sources, including the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Census Bureau.
Outstanding Web Features: State Profiles for Women's Health enables visitors to see key facts for women on demographics, health coverage and access to care, health status, sexual health, maternal and infant health, and abortion.
