UniversalGiving

Mission:
To create a global platform for action that enables anyone to contribute to exceptional organizations.

Background:
UniversalGiving is a social entrepreneurship nonprofit whose vision is to create a world in which giving and volunteering are a natural part of everyday life. The organization works with more than two hundred nonprofit partners and a worldwide network of experts. Users select a country and an area of interest, and the site assists them with strategic giving or helps them plan a volunteer trip. UniversalGiving's services are free to individuals and nongovernmental organizations. Pamela Hawley founded the organization in 2002 to raise awareness about and serve the most impoverished communities in the world. In 1996, she co-founded VolunteerMatch, a Web-based nonprofit that has matched more than two million volunteers with nonprofits all across the nation.

Outstanding Web Features:
UniversalGiving provides services for individuals, NGOs, and a customized service for corporations. UniversalGiving Corporate is a customized, fee-based service designed for both multinational and domestic companies whose employees want to assist the organization's global communities. UniversalGiving also provides customized models for Giving Circles and universities.
