Albertson Family Foundation Announces $32 Million in Grants

The Boise-based J.A. & Kathryn Albertson Family Foundation has announced that it awarded grants totaling $32 million in 2016 in support of Idaho students, veterans, and communities.

Recipients of the grants include Mission43, the Boise Water Park, Teach for America, Khan Academy LearnStorm, and One Stone. Established in 2008, One Stone opened the One Stone School, a non-traditional school that leverages blended and project-based learning with an emphasis on student leadership and voice, earlier this year.

"School models like One Stone have been proven on a national level with ingenuity and innovation as their guiding principles," said Albertson Family Foundation executive director Roger Quarles. "We have been impressed with the One Stone program over the years and are proud to support the first school of this kind in Idaho. Thus far, they are proving to be the epitome of what they set out to do, which is to make students better leaders and the world a better place."
