Amazon awards $4 million in scholarships for engineering students

Online retailer Amazon has announced the winners of the latest round of Amazon Future Engineer scholarships.

Through the program, four-year, $40,000 scholarships are awarded annually to a hundred college-bound seniors from underserved and underrepresented communities. Scholarship recipients are also guaranteed paid internships at Amazon after their freshman year.

"I'm so inspired by the stories of these students who are pursuing career paths to help increase access to technology and computer literacy among American families," said Victor Reinoso, global director of the Amazon Future Engineer program. "These two stories show the long-term impact that this program can have on the communities it's reaching."
