American Film Institute receives $5 million for scholarships
The American Film Institute in Los Angeles has announced a $5 million gift from the Perenchio Foundation to establish an endowed scholarship program.
The Perenchio Family Endowed Scholarship will support the inclusion of diverse voices at the AFI Conservatory, with the first cohort of AFI Conservatory Perenchio Fellows to be announced in the coming months.
"Though he was famously anonymous in his philanthropy, Jerry [Perenchio's] generosity knew no bounds," said AFI board chair Bob Daly. "Through this endowed scholarship at the AFI Conservatory, his legacy will continue to echo across generations in tomorrow's storytellers."
