Anchorum commits $25 million to five New Mexico community foundations

Anchorum Health Foundation (AHF) in Santa Fe has announced a five-year commitment to invest $25 million in five community foundations to improve health outcomes across northern New Mexico.

Anchorum—which received $500 million as part of the 2023 reorganization of Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center—works to address health disparities and promote wellness in 13 northern New Mexico counties, as well as the state’s Pueblos and Tribal Nations. The five partner foundations will each receive a share of an annual $5 million allotment determined by capacity, size, and track record addressing health and wellness issues in the region.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, first-year allotments include $2.35 million to Santa Fe Community Foundation (SFCF); $1 million to the New Mexico Foundation; $750,000 to the Las Vegas New Mexico Community Foundation; $750,000 to the Taos Community Foundation; and $150,000 to the Los Alamos Community Foundation. In addition, AHF will support an Anchorum Fellow at each of the foundations to help identify local trends affecting community health.

“This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to improving health outcomes in northern New Mexico and leveraging our philanthropic efforts to advance education, housing, and food security,” said SFCF president Christopher Goett.
