Barancik Foundation awards $2.3 million in grants
The Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation in Sarasota, Florida, has announced grants totaling $2.3 million in support of efforts to address community needs and provide equitable access to health care and the arts.
Recipients include Easterseals Southwest Florida, which was awarded $421,500 over three years to establish an Autism Center of Excellence; the All Star Children's Foundation, which will receive $250,000 to create a safe place for children to heal from the trauma of child abuse; the Women's Resource Center, which was awarded $150,000 to improve access to affordable care for and provide counseling services to women in the area; and the Resilient Retreat, which will receive $125,000 to provide trauma-informed care training and therapies.
The foundation also awarded a $100,000 matching grant to WEDU in support of at-home learning programming for children, parents, and teachers; a grant of $71,000 to CreArte Latino SRQ in support of the Para el Futuro project, which brings members of the Sarasota community together through diverse cultural experiences; and a grant of $73,737 to New College Foundation for a series of college essay writing workshops for students pursuing postsecondary education.
