Bradley Foundation announces $12 million in 2021 grants

The Milwaukee-based Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation has announced that it awarded more than $12 million in grants this year to a hundred and twelve organizations across Wisconsin.

A majority of the grants were awarded to organizations in the Milwaukee area that are working to strengthen institutions of civil society, such as families, education, and the arts. Recipients include the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, which was awarded $150,000 in support of institutional growth; the Lighthouse Youth Center, which will receive $100,000 in general operating support for its neighborhood-based centers; Teens Grow Greens, which was awarded $500,000 in support of a capital campaign for its educational and internship programs as well as $15,000 in general operating support; and TransCenter for Youth, which will receive $45,000 for the Driving Dreams Early College Program, in which students can earn college credit as part of their high school studies.

“There is no shortage of challenges [across] the country today, which makes the role of civil society ever more critical,” said Bradley Foundation president Rick Graber. “The work of Bradley grantees reflects a belief in the dignity of each person and the richness of a vibrant community. Grantees are the problem solvers, the passionate leaders, and the unsung heroes in the Milwaukee area and beyond.”
