California Health Care Foundation launches BIPOC leadership fellowship

The California Health Care Foundation has announced a new fellowship program aimed at identifying, developing, and supporting emerging Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) leaders.

The Health Equity Fellowship Program will focus on educating emerging BIPOC leaders via leadership development, training, and grantmaking for health equity-centered work over two years, with an emphasis on impact investing, homelessness, and health care. Fellows will receive an annual salary of $120,000 and participate in cohort-based trainings and professional development activities designed to support their leadership.

"Across California, there are talented people of color who are working to make our systems of care more just," said CHCF president and CEO Sandra R. Hernández. "This fellowship will give them an opportunity to bring those experiences and perspectives to philanthropy and to build their capacity to make lasting changes in the delivery system over the course of their careers."
