The Carnegie Corporation of New York has announced thirty-two grants totaling nearly $25 million.

First-quarter grants made through the foundation’s International Program include $2.3 million over three years to the University of Cape Town to provide postdoctoral support to emerging academic leaders; $2.2 million over two years to the Social Science Research Council for a fellowship program that promotes doctoral research and writing on peace-building by African social scientists; and $650,000 over two years to the Alliance for Peacebuilding in support of an  evaluation and adaptive learning initiative.

Grants awarded through the foundation’s National Program include $1 million over two years to CityBridge Education in Washington, D.C., in support of an integrated approach to innovative school design and redesign and knowledge-sharing activities; $500,000 over two years to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago to develop a course on Next Generation Science Standards for teachers; and $400,000 over nine months to the University of Virginia in support of the Nudge4 Solutions Lab, which is working to develop targeted, technology-enabled solutions aimed at reducing educational inequality.
