Centex Homes Pledges $1 Million to Conservation Fund

Dallas-based Centex Homes, one of the nation's largest home builders, has pledged $1 million to the Conservation Fund in Arlington, Virginia.

The grant will establish the Centex Homes Land Legacy Fund to support land and water preservation projects around the country. The new fund will be part of the Conservation Fund's Revolving Fund, which assists federal, state, and local agencies with funding for land acquisition projects.

"Land is obviously an essential element for our business," said Centex chairman and CEO Andy Hannigan. "The Land Legacy Fund will enable us to expand our vision of working with numerous organizations that share our passion for balancing land conservation with responsible development."
