City of Hope receives $25 million from Argyros family

California-based City of Hope has announced a $25 million gift from Julia and George Argyros in support of its mission to deliver world-renowned cancer research, treatment, and cures.

The gift will support City of Hope Orange County, which recently opened the Lennar Foundation Cancer Center in Irvine, and in recognition of the gift, the healing garden on the Orange County campus will be named for the family. Longtime supporters of the organization, they previously established the Argyros Family Garden of Hope at the first City of Hope campus near Los Angeles.

“We are honored to be in the position to support City of Hope, which is saving lives and expanding access to its advanced cancer care,” said Julia Argyros, president of the Argyros Family Foundation. “We believe it is our privilege to give back to the community. We hope that this gift helps people get the care they need and that everyone who walks through the healing gardens at the new cancer center is filled with peace and hope.”
