Coca-Cola Foundation awards $1 million grant to Water Mission
Water Mission has announced a $1 million grant from the Coca-Cola Foundation in support of its efforts to provide safe water and sanitation infrastructure projects in the eastern region of Uganda and the Dodoma region of Tanzania over the next two years.
The grant will support a safe water program that is expected to benefit more than 53,000 people in Uganda and Tanzania, where the organization has permanent offices with local staff that provide sustainable safe water solutions for people in communities, refugee camps, and disaster areas. According to Water Mission, safe water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions change lives by improving health and creating opportunities that can break the cycle of poverty.
“The Coca-Cola Foundation’s grant allows us to accelerate our safe water project work,” said Water Mission president and CEO George Greene. “This gift will provide maximum impact through our safe water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions for the people of Uganda and Tanzania.”
