Comcast NBCUniversal Renews Partnership With City Year

City Year has announced a three-year commitment totaling $11.2 million in cash and in-kind support from long-time corporate sponsor Comcast NBCUniversal.

The commitment will renew the media giant's partnership with the national youth service organization, which includes Comcast continuing to serve as Presenting Sponsor of City Year's Summer Leadership Academy, an annual training academy attended by more than fifteen hundred City Year corps members, staff, and educators. The company also will continue to sponsor the organization's annual National Leadership Summit, which brings together leaders from the education, business, philanthropic, and government sectors interested in creating opportunities for at-risk students; as National Sponsor of City Year's annual Opening Day, the official fall kickoff for City Year corps members across the country; and as Presenting Sponsor of the Voices for National Service Friends of National Service Awards reception in Washington, D.C.

In addition to funding, Comcast will provide national airtime for City Year public service announcements that communicate how the organization puts at-risk students on a path to success. Since 2001, Comcast NBCUniversal has donated more than $85 million in cash and in-kind support to City Year.

"We are deeply grateful to Comcast NBCUniversal for their generous investment in City Year," said the organization's CEO and co-founder, Michael Brown. "Their remarkable leadership and ongoing support has helped to keep thousands of students in high-poverty schools on track to graduate."
