California

The San Diego Foundation and San Diego Community Power, California’s second largest Community Choice Aggregator (CCA), which serves nearly one million customers, have announced that the two organizations anticipate awarding upwards of $1 million in grants to nonprofits proposing projects or programs that move communities towards a healthier, more sustainable, clean energy future. Launched in 2023, the second round of the Community Clean Energy Grant Program is expected to double the total awards available through the program, with grant sizes ranging from $25,000 to $100,000.

The San Francisco Foundation has announced the launch of a scholarship program for San Francisco State University students who identify as Black and who demonstrate financial need. The San Francisco Foundation Black Excellence Scholarship for SF State will offer $2,500 scholarships to 35 students each year.

Florida

The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties has announced the establishment of the Edna W. Runner Tutorial Center Investing Fund. The $100,000 charitable fund honors the chairman emerita of the West Jupiter Edna W. Runner Tutorial Center, which provides after school, spring break, and summer camp services for more than 125 elementary and middle school-aged students.

Indiana

The Crosser Family Foundation, a fund of Hamilton County Community Foundation (HCCF), has announced $491,800 in grants to 21 nonprofits. Recipients include Agape Therapeutic Riding Resources, Noblesville Schools Education Foundation, Noblesville Youth Assistance, and Connor Prairie Museum. HCCF is an affiliate of the Central Indiana Community Foundation.

Minnesota

The Minneapolis Foundation has announced that its WCA Foundation awarded $474,110 in grants to 18 organizations that serve women by meeting basic needs related to economic stability, education, shelter, safety, and health. Recipients include Age Well at Home, Beyond New Beginnings, Children’s Dental Services, and Tubman.

New Jersey

The Princeton Area Community Foundation has announced that its Bunbury Fund awarded more than $1 million in grants to 26 nonprofits in support of work that will strengthen the organizations’ internal capacity, so they can better serve the community. Recipients include Anchor House, the Father Center of New Jersey, Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness, and HomeFront.

New Mexico

The Santa Fe Community Foundation has announced that its Empower! Black Futures Community Fund, formerly known as the Earthseed Community Fund, has named the inaugural members of its advisory committee. Raashan Ahmad will serve as chair, while the rest of the committee will include Bettye Kearse, Hakim Bellamy, Simesha McEachern, Rich Brown, Neema Pickett, Michael Davis, and SPAC3. Launched in 2023 through the collaborative efforts of the Earthseed Black Arts Alliance and the Santa Fe Community Foundation, Empower! Black Futures Community Fund is an identity-based giving circle dedicated to supporting Black life, arts, and culture in New Mexico.

Wisconsin

The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region has announced that its Clintonville Area Foundation distributed $10,850 to six area nonprofits. Recipients include the Compassionate Connection Center, Clintonville Goodfellows Association, Community Clothes Closet, and Safe Haven Domestic Abuse Support Center.
