Arizona

The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona in Tucson has announced the addition of Lauren Delashaw as AmeriCorps VISTA communications coordinator. She has worked for more than a decade in hospitality management and event coordination.

Connecticut

The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has announced an 18-month, $300,000 grant to help Girls for Technology provide professional development and training on innovative use of technology for women and girls. The grant will provide flexible resources to assist the organization as it expands its holistic and immersive programming.

Indiana

Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF) has announced the appointment of Jeff Bennett as chief innovation officer. Bennett most recently served as senior policy advisor to Indianapolis mayor Joe Hogsett and deputy mayor for community development.

Minnesota

The Minneapolis Foundation has announced more than $1.5 million in Reimagine Education grants to 30 schools, school districts, and organizations that are advancing equity and uplifting youth voices in Minnesota’s K-12 education system. Reimagine Education is a collaborative initiative designed to transform research into collective action to make the state’s schools better for all students. Recipients include Black Men Teach, Climate Generation, Education Evolving, and MN Zej Zog.

New Mexico

The Los Alamos Community Foundation has announced the addition of two new members of its board of directors. Diana Martinez recently retired from the Family YMCA after a 25-year career serving as a senior program director and development director with a focus on grantwriting. John Benner is currently the associate laboratory director for weapon production and leads the plutonium pit production activities at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he has worked in various positions since 1993.

New York

In an effort to expand and enhance its support for rural counties in its region, the Rochester Area Community Foundation has announced it will award up to $50,000 in grants to nonprofits helping to improve the quality of life for residents of Orleans County. The funding is part of a new strategy to increase access to critical services, tackle disparities faced by residents, and bolster services to organizations on the front lines.

Ohio

The Columbus Foundation has announced that it awarded a record $328.3 million in grants to 4,773 nonprofits in 2022, supporting areas such as the arts, education, health, social services, conservation, social justice, and neighborhood development. In 2022, the foundation awarded more than $320.7 million in support of new and existing funds and supporting foundations. In addition, its donors awarded more than $4.1 million in scholarships, also a record.
