Illinois

The Chicago Community Trust has named five emerging leaders and two experienced leaders as its 2013 Trust Fellows. Selected for their creativity, originality, and potential to make contributions to the future of the Chicago metropolitan area, experienced leaders receive up to $60,000 and emerging leaders up to $30,000 to further their professional development.

Louisiana

The Greater New Orleans Foundation has announced grants from its IMPACT fund totaling more than $600,000 to thirty-eight nonprofit organizations. The IMPACT program provides support for organizations in the areas of arts and culture, education, health and human services, and youth development. The latest recipients include the Creative Alliance of New Orleans, Eastbank Collaborative of Charter Schools, the Latino Famers Cooperative of Louisiana, and New Orleans Kids Partnership.

Massachusetts

The Essex County Community Foundation in Danvers has announced that author Carrie Stack will present a two-part workshop on leadership skills in January. The training is designed to give nonprofit leaders and staff new tools to build on their people skills and work with staff, teams, clients, residents, and communities.

Michigan

The Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation has awarded some $37 million in grants since its establishment twenty years ago, the Traverse City Record-Eagle reports. In December, the foundation awarded more than $410,000 in grants, including $180,000 through its competitive fall grant cycle, boosting its grantmaking total for the year to $1.7 million.

New Hampshire

The Concord-based New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has named David E. Trueblood as its vice president of communications and marketing. Previously, Trueblood served as director of public relations for the Boston Foundation.

North Carolina

The Shelby-based Cleveland County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Foundation for the Carolinas, has announced $12,100 in grants to nine nonprofits. Recipients include the Carolina Cross Connection, Washington Outreach Ministry, Kings Mountain Rotary Club, and the Cleveland County Abuse Prevention Council.

Oregon

The Oregon Community Foundation has awarded $25,000 to the Southwest Oregon Boys and Girls Club in Coos Bay to help its new teen center comply with Americans With Disabilities Act standards, KCBY.com reports. The new center, which will be located on the second floor, will require an elevator and a ramp to a stage where teens perform.
