Florida
The Gulf Coast Community Foundation has elected Anand Pallegar and Joe Stephan to its board.
Georgia
The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta has announced the appointments of Elyse Hammett as vice president of marketing and communications and Diana Champ Davis as vice president of capacity.
Louisiana
The Greater New Orleans Foundation has announced the winners of the 2016 Freeman Challenge. During 2016, the Coliseum Square Association, Lighthouse Louisiana, the local YMCA, and the Lens will receive one dollar for every two dollars they raise, up to $150,000, from the Freeman family, which established the challenge. The matching funds are intended to be used to help the four organizations start/grow an endowment or build a "rainy day" fund.
Massachusetts
The Cape Cod Foundation has announced a $50,000 grant from the Breast Cancer Reconstructive Surgery Fund to Cape Cod Healthcare for cancer support services. The grant was made possible by an anonymous $1.5 million dollar bequest gift the foundation received in 2014 to help cover the costs of reconstructive surgery not covered by health insurance for women residing in Barnstable County who have had all or any part of either breast removed due to a cancer diagnosis.
Pennsylvania
The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Foundation, has elected Gail Malloy as chair, the first woman to head the governing body of the foundation in its twenty-year history.
Washington
The Seattle Foundation has announced that it is conducting free training workshops for organizations participating in the GiveBIG fundraising drive. Hosted by the Seattle Times, the training will focus on digital media campaign planning and will be held on February 24 (8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.) and February 25 (4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.).

CF Insights, a service of Foundation Center, has announced the launch of a three-part webinar series to help community foundations better understand their financial and operational outlooks. Participants will learn how to use free modeling toolkits available from the CF Insights website to analyze their sustainability and make strategic decisions. The first webinar, Wednesday, March 9, will cover how to use Activity-Based Costing to gain a thorough understanding of all-in costs and revenues, determine which products are generating surplus revenue and which require an investment, and identify specific adjustments to operating models.
