California

The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County has announced the appointment of Steve McCarthy as president of its board of directors and the addition of Joan Parker to the board.

Illinois

The DuPage Community Foundation in Wheaton has announced that it has completed the initial stages of a rebranding effort, including the changing of its name to the DuPage Foundation. Launched in 2013, the rebranding effort was completed last fall and made effective at the beginning of March.

Maine

The Maine Community Foundation and two other Maine-based organization have contributed a total of $75,000 to address the needs of 1,200 displaced workers and others affected by recent paper mill closings in northern and eastern areas of the state, the Bangor Daily News reports. The commitments include $35,000 to Penquis and the Washington Hancock Community Agency for heating fuel assistance, $30,000 to the Good Shepherd Food Bank for food assistance, and $10,000 to Our Katahdin in support of leadership development, mentoring, and communication.

Massachusetts

The Falmouth Fund of the Cape Cod Foundation in Yarmouthport has announced $59,000 in grants. Recipients include the Community Health Center of Cape Cod, Gosnold, the WE CAN Corporation, and the Cape Conservatory.

New Jersey

The Princeton Area Community Foundation has announced that its Fund for Women and Girls has awarded five grants totaling $117,700. Recipients include HiTops, the Institute of Wonderful Women Working for Empowerment, the Mill Hill Child and Family Development Corporation, PEI Kids, and RISE.

Ohio

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation has named Ellen M. Katz as its president and CEO, effective May 18. She will succeed Kathryn E. Merchant, who has led the foundation for eighteen years.

Oklahoma

The Oklahoma City Community Foundation has announced three grants totaling $80,000 in support of r projects that promote fitness and the beautification of public lands. Awarded through the Parks & Public Space Initiative, the grants will support the Bodine Home and Schools Association, Fields and Futures, and the Myriad Gardens Foundation.

Pennsylvania

The Greater Titusville Development Foundation has announced that it is now able to accept donations from individuals, foundations, and corporations in support of local initiatives. Established in 2014, the foundation accepts charitable contributions from local organizations and residents and distributes them to projects in the Greater Titusville area that might otherwise go unfunded.
