Costco Pledges $10 Million to Children's Hospital Los Angeles
Children's Hospital Los Angeles has announced a five-year, $10 million pledge from Costco Wholesale Corporation to the CHLA Children's Fund in support of the research and clinical care programs at the hospital.
In recognition of the pledge, the second floor of the Marion and John E. Anderson Pavilion, which opened in June 2011 and includes the Heart Institute, will be named the Costco Wholesale Floor. Since 1983, Costco, the hospital's largest corporate donor, has donated more than $16 million to CHLA, including support from Costco members who contribute at the registers each May as part of a month-long fundraising campaign.
"Costco's generous gift will directly impact our ability to provide world-class pediatric care, conduct groundbreaking medical research, and train the next generation of clinicians," said CHLA president and CEO Richard D. Cordova. "It takes all of these things working together to provide the life-giving and life-saving programs that help the 104,000 children we treat annually at the hospital."
