Duke Endowment Awards $2.75 Million to Greenwood Genetic Center
The Greenwood Genetic Center at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, South Carolina, has announced a three-year, $2.75 million grant from the Duke Endowment.
The grant will enable the center to expand its clinical services and strengthen the infrastructure of its treatment program, which currently serves more than two hundred patients with metabolic genetic disorders. The grant also will provide support for additional personnel to expand the center's capacity to offer clinical trials for a variety of genetic disorders.
"We are appreciative [of] the Duke Endowment for their continued support of our treatment initiatives," said GGC director Steve Skinner. "Our patients will benefit from this gift by having access to more clinical trials, improved diagnostics, and more clinicians dedicated to treatment than ever before."
