El Concilio Kalamazoo, a Latinx community-focused nonprofit, has received a $4 million gift from the Stryker-Johnston Foundation, mlive.com reports.

The donation will support the organization’s $5.5 million Fulfilling the Promise for All campaign, which is aimed at purchasing and renovating a new headquarters. The organization, which serves more than 7,000 people, offers summer camps, counseling services, and business development programs. The move to a new location would enable El Concilio to expand its services and include a preschool and afterschool program as well as life-skills, translation, and bilingual mental health resources.

“It’s not just going to help us expand, it’s going to help the community we serve,” El Concilio executive director Adrian Vazquez-Alatorre told mlive.com.
