Evjue Foundation Awards $1 Million to Endow Chair at UW-Madison's School of Journalism
The University of Wisconsin-Madison has received a $1 million grant from the Evjue Foundation to endow a professorship at its school of journalism, the Madison Capital Times reports.
The grant will fund the William T. Evjue Centennial Chair, named in honor of the newspaper's founder and publisher. The Evjue Foundation is the charitable arm of the Capital Times.
"William Evjue and the Capital Times have earned a special place in the history of Wisconsin journalism," said journalism school director James Baughman. "We are honored to have had many of our graduates work for Bill Evjue and his paper."
