Ford Motor Company and the Ford Motor Company Fund have announced a five-year, $5.8 million commitment to Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster relief organization, in support of its ongoing response to natural disasters and crises.

Ford’s investment—which includes a fleet of 17 vehicles, a $2.5 million grant to Team Rubicon’s Ready Reserve Fund, and a commitment to deploy Ford employee volunteers—will expand Team Rubicon’s ability to provide no-cost services to vulnerable communities in the wake of hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and wildfires across the country. The Ford Fund previously awarded a total of $1.5 million to Team Rubicon.

“This Ford fleet and its innovative technology, in addition to the Ford Fund investment, exponentially increases our ability to reach those who have been impacted by disasters and crises,” said Team Rubicon CEO Art delaCruz. “We…look forward to showcasing the possibilities that can happen when purpose-driven companies team up with humanitarian organizations.”

“The reality is weather-related disasters in the United States are becoming more frequent and more severe,” said Ford executive chair Bill Ford. “That is why we are significantly expanding our relationship with Team Rubicon, donating a fleet of vehicles, and deploying volunteers where they are needed most.”
