Thompson Child and Family Focus in Matthews, North Carolina, has announced commitments totaling $2.2 million from the Duke Endowment and the Leon Levine Foundation in support of the nonprofit’s foster care services in South Carolina.

The grants will enable Thompson to establish a multi-level system of therapeutic foster care designed to address the needs of children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, neglect, or abuse. The funds will expand the nonprofit’s capacity to address growing community needs, advance recruitment and training of child service professionals, and bolster community, state, and local agency collaboration.

“These grants embody our belief that for every life transformed, a ripple effect of positive change radiates outward,” said Thompson CEO Will Jones. “By healing a child, a family becomes stronger. By strengthening families, communities grow healthier.”
