Global Good Fund Receives $2.2 Million for Fellowship Program

The Global Good Fund in Washington, D.C., has announced a $2.2 million grant from the Diana Davis Spencer Foundation to establish a fellowship program aimed at accelerating the leadership development of young social entrepreneurs.

The largest grant ever awarded to the fund will be used to facilitate a fellowship track for social entrepreneurs who are committed to creating sustainable careers for under- and unemployed men and women in the United States over the age of 50. Diana Davis Spencer Fellows will take part in a fifteen-month leadership development program, during which they will have ongoing access to a personalized leadership curriculum as well as top leadership development consultants and successful business executives. The fund plans to enroll twenty U.S.-based social entrepreneurs in the program.

"We have been following the Global Good Fund's progress for more than a year now, watching the organization at work," said Spencer Foundation president and chair Diana Davis Spencer. "We share the Global Good Fund's commitment to entrepreneurship as a vehicle for domestic job creation, especially for persons over fifty years of age."
