The Gray Foundation has announced $25 million in funding in support of seven research teams studying BRCA-related cancers.

Part of the foundation’s Team Science program, the grants support research focused on new approaches to the prevention, early detection, and interception of BRCA-related cancers. With the latest round of funding, the foundation has committed a total of $187 million to such research since 2012. This year, grants were awarded to Angela Belcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Joan Brugger at Harvard Medical School, Dipanjan Chowdhury at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Amy Degnim at Mayo Clinic, Shawn Demehri at Massachusetts General Hospital, Judy Garber at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Kenneth Olive at Columbia University.

“As we double down on our Team Science program, it is our fervent hope that families have far better options than exist today,” said Gray Foundation co-founders Mindy and Jon Gray. “We are inspired to support this cutting-edge research across institutions as we continue to make progress in early detection, prevention, and interception of BRCA-related cancers.”
