Habitat for Humanity receives $6.3 million from Wells Fargo Foundation
Habitat for Humanity International (HHI) has announced a $6.3 million grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation in support of projects to construct, renovate, and repair more than 280 affordable homes in 175 communities across the United States.
While funded projects were not disclosed, HHI noted that nearly 38 percent of households in California are cost-burdened, with one in five being “severely burdened.”
Since 2010, Wells Fargo bank and its philanthropic arm have contributed more than $136 million in project support to HHI and its local affiliates.
“We believe access to a quality, affordable place to call home is something everyone should have,” said Stacy Spann, Wells Fargo Foundation head of housing access and affordability philanthropy. “We’re proud of our long-standing collaboration with Habitat for Humanity to help more families access affordable homeownership, providing family stability and an opportunity to build generational wealth.”
