Hillel International Receives $38 Million From Marcus Foundation
Hillel International in Washington, D.C., has announced a $38 million gift from the Marcus Foundation to launch a multiyear initiative aimed at recruiting, training, and retaining talented leaders for campus Hillels.
Through the Hillel Talent Grants program, the organization will award more than five hundred grants annually in support of its talent development initiatives and efforts to keep young Jewish professionals working in the Hillel field and on behalf of the Jewish community. To that end, local Hillels will receive targeted funding in four categories: recruitment and onboarding; retention and promotion; professional development; and technology upgrades.
"This core investment in Hillel's talent initiatives is evidence that the Jewish philanthropic community recognizes Hillel's vital role in shaping the future of the Jewish world," said Eric D. Fingerhut, president and CEO of Hillel International. "This generous support from the Marcus Foundation will enable Hillel to invest in the field of professionals who engage and inspire Jewish students on college campuses across the country and around the world, building a stronger Jewish community for future generations."
