Hilton Foundation awarded $57 million in first half of 2023

The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation has announced 13 multiyear grants totaling $57 million awarded in the first half of 2023.

The grants span the foundation’s seven program areas supporting organizations in the United States and around the world.

Recipients include the Jesuit Conference of Africa and Madagascar ($1.8 million), which will work to improve access to and completion of education for girls in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Tanzania, and Malawi; New Yorkers for Children ($3.6 million), which aims to improve wraparound support for foster youth and caregivers in New York City; ChildFund International USA ($3 million), which will implement a community-based parenting program for caregivers of children ages 0-3 in Kenya and Mozambique; the Corporation for Supportive Housing ($5 million), which aims to improve access to healthcare-aligned supportive housing in Los Angeles; Swahilipot Hub Foundation ($2.55 million), which will support youth case management and career pathways services in Mombasa, Kenya; Addis Ababa City Government in Ethiopia ($1.6 million) which will bolster its capacity to provide childhood development services and livelihood opportunities for residents, including refugees and internally displaced people; the Aquaya Institute ($3 million), which will support water quality testing in Ghana and Kenya; and Civicus World Alliance for Citizen Participation ($1.5 million), which will collaborate with Network for Empowered Aid Response ($1.5 million), which will develop strategies to improve the flow of funding to local actors.
