Hilton Worldwide Awards $3 Million to International Youth Foundation

Hilton Worldwide has announced a three-year, $3 million grant to the International Youth Foundation to strengthen IYF's efforts to improve outcomes for children around the world.

Together, Hilton Worldwide and IYF will seek to provide employment opportunities and life-skills training to youth in developing countries. Hilton Worldwide has more than 3,800 hotels in 91 countries, while IYF has invested more than $178 million in youth initiatives through its network of more than 200 partners in 68 countries since it was founded in 1990. The grant is part of Hilton Worldwide's Travel with Purpose initiative, which was established in 2011 to help individuals around the globe reach their full potential, celebrate cultures and the power of travel, and promote sustainability by analyzing and improving the company's use of natural resources.

"The hospitality industry is a great place for young people to learn new skills and build a lasting career," said Hilton Worldwide president and CEO Christopher J. Nassetta, who is joining the IYF board. "There are countless stories of hospitality leaders like myself who first got a taste of the industry at a young age. During college, I worked in the engineering department of a hotel where I received on-the-job training in property operations. My experience, and the wonderful people I met along the way, inspired me to pursue a career in hospitality, and through our partnership with IYF we hope to pass this inspiration to future generations who will support the long-term success of our company and the industry."
