Home Depot Foundation commits $1 million for Hurricane Ida relief

The Home Depot Foundation has announced a commitment of up to $1 million in support of immediate disaster relief and long-term recovery efforts in communities impacted by Hurricane Ida.

The foundation is working with its national nonprofit partners, including Operation Blessing, ToolBank Disaster Services, Team Rubicon, All Hands and Hearts, Convoy of Hope, and the American Red Cross, to identify and address the most urgent needs within affected communities. The foundation has initiated response efforts with World Central Kitchen to provide hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other tools to help with on-site cooking operations. In addition, Team Depot, the company's associate volunteer force, will assemble more than a thousand disaster relief kits, which include cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment, garbage bags, and other items for distribution to the affected communities.

"Our thoughts are with the communities that have been impacted by Hurricane Ida," said Home Depot Foundation executive director Shannon Gerber. "The Home Depot Foundation will work closely with our national and local nonprofit partners to help provide critical supplies and services throughout the recovery process."
