Huntsman Cancer Institute receives $20 million land donation

Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah has announced a $20 million land donation from Woodbury Corporation and Flagship Companies to support a campus in Utah County.

To be situated on a 48-acre plot of land, the 20-acre campus will significantly decrease travel time for people from southern Utah and surrounding states, enabling the institute to extend its reach and attract patients. The campus will be designed as a walkable community with multi-mode transit options and offer patients and their loved ones views of Utah Lake and the surrounding mountains.

“We are immensely grateful to the Flagship Companies and Woodbury Corporation for their generous land donation and for the exciting vision they have created for Utah City,” said Huntsman Cancer Institute CEO and distinguished professor of biology Mary Beckerle. “This new campus will enable us to expand access to our world-class cancer research and leading-edge cancer care as an integral part of a vibrant, health-centered community. The proximity to Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University further enhances our ability to collaborate with academic institutions and foster hands-on learning for the next generation of cancer scientists and healthcare providers.”
