The Jacobs Foundation has announced the launch of a research consortium focused on advancing equity in Swiss primary schools through the digitalization of education.

Designed as a partnership between seven organizations that reflect the institutional, geographical, political, and methodological diversity of Switzerland, DEEP (Digital Education for Equity in Primary schools) aims to investigate ways to maximize the positive effects of the digital transformation on primary school-age learners while accounting for potential risks. The research agenda will be determined in consultation with key stakeholders from across the education system, including local authorities, teachers, and school heads.

The consortium aims to produce and present rigorous evidence of the effects of digital education in an accessible manner and promote the adoption and implementation of the evidence in policy and school practice as well as in teacher training.
