JARC Florida receives $5 million gift for programming

JARC Florida, a Boca Raton-based nonprofit serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, has announced a $5 million gift from board member Howard Halpern and his wife, Lynne.

The gift will provide continued support for programming and an expansion of services. In recognition of the gift, the JARC Florida campus will be renamed after the couple. The Halperns, who have a son who lives in the Adolph & Rose Levis Supported Living Apartment Program on campus, previously have sponsored a fleet of vans to assist with travel for JARC Florida clients and funded additions to the Boca Raton campus.

“Lynne and I are delighted to make this transformational gift to create the Lynne & Howard Halpern JARC Campus,” said Howard Halpern. “Having been closely associated with JARC over the last five years, we have seen firsthand the success JARC has played in improving the quality of life of these extraordinary people.”
