Jewish Life Organization Receives $28.8 Million
BBYO, a Jewish life organization that works to involve Jewish teens in more meaningful Jewish experiences, has announced gifts totaling $28.8 million from the Jim Joseph Foundation and the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation.
The lead gifts to BBYO's newly launched $90 million fundraising campaign from two long-time funders will be used to build the organization's capacity and boost its annual membership to 27,000, doubling its current growth rate. The organization also will use the funds to increase its summer program offerings, support its volunteer advisors, and bolster its endowment. The gifts were awarded in response to a six-month capacity-building study by Wellspring Consulting that identified key goals and initiatives and the resources needed to accomplish them.
"Our research included more than thirty-nine hundred data points and concluded that we are having a deep impact on our members," said BBYO chief executive Matthew Grossman. "Rather than make major shifts to strategy, we were advised to scale our operation so that many more teens can experience all that we have to offer. We are grateful for these significant investments, which will help position us for even greater global reach and impact on Jewish teens."
