The Juilliard School in New York City has announced $20 million in gifts from the Arnhold Foundation in recognition of the school’s Creative Enterprise and Juilliard Jazz divisions.

The gifts include a $5 million endowment gift from John and Jody Arnhold to Juilliard Jazz in support of scholarships and performance activity, as well as $15 million to the Creative Enterprise programming. In recognition of the gift, the resident artists program through Juilliard’s Creative Enterprise will be renamed Arnhold Creative Associates. Members of the Arnhold family are longtime donors to Juilliard, reaching back to John’s father, Henry Arnhold’s support of the graduate resident string quartet beginning in 1991.

“We are grateful for this generous gift from John and Jody Arnhold to Creative Enterprise and Juilliard Jazz,” said Juilliard president Damian Woetzel. “Their support is a powerful acknowledgement of the innovative excellence of these programs and will provide resources for artistic development and affordability for our talented students from around the world.”
