Kansas State University has announced that it raised $121 million in the fiscal year that ended June 30.

The total, the largest in the 68-year history of the KSU Foundation, included $76 million in gifts and $45 million in pledges and deferred donations — a year-over-year increase of $14 million — from more than fifty-one thousand supporters. During the 2011-12 fiscal year, a total of thirteen gifts or commitments of $1 million or more were received by the university, while ninety-two scholarships and four professorships or endowed chairs were created.

"This new record is a demonstration of commitment to the university's leadership and strategic vision," said KSU Foundation president and CEO Fred Cholick. "As the university moves toward the ambitious goal of becoming a top fifty public research university by 2025, philanthropic support will be crucial to propel that vision forward."
